The second night we finally tried free camping. Kenny found out prior to our trip that Norway has some pretty encouraging laws in regards to camping. Pretty much you can camp anywhere as long as there are no fences and you are at least 150 meters away from an inhabited building. I just took his word for it on this trip.
Our second hike of Norway was 6 km each way with the end being at the Kjerag Bolt – a large bolder wedged in crevice close to 1000 meters above the fjord below. It was a lot more taxing of a hike than Pulpit Rock with more climb and ups and downs throughout. The cost to park at the trailhead was 200 krone. Kenny ended up being the only one brave enough to stand on it (Jeanette might have also if not for me saying “absolutely not” to her getting on it).

Oh My GOD !!! How did Kenny get down on the rock and back up…..the picture is awesome but OH MY GOD!!! I’ve seen enough looney toon cartoons to know that that rock could easily be dislodged and fall down to where the road runner was standing…..I think that turned my hair grey. Whew…ya’ll be careful, (Yes I’m talking to you Kenny). Love,mom
