Baby Girl and the Big Apple

Jeanette had a friend that lives in Manhattan, NY offer to sublet her apartment to us while she got out of the city for a month, so we decided to jump at the opportunity and stay a couple of weeks.   This is both mine and Lydia’s first trip to New York.

The flight had 2 legs of just over 3 hours each and Lydia did well through both of them.   She actually fussed less than her momma on the plane.  Due to the time change, we landed at Newark Airport at about 11:30 pm.  It took a $60 Lyft ride to get to where we are staying just south of Central Park.  Everyone was whipped, so we got to bed as quick as we could after a short wrestle with the locks on the apartment door.

Flying just wears you out.

After a slow morning, for Day 1, Lydia decided we should get a lay of the land and find some of the restaurants where we might want to eat.   Our lunch was at Empanada Momma, and dinner was at Sophie’s (Cuban Restaurant).  Both were really good, and we found so many more to try over the next few of days.  So far, I feel like this city is a little cheaper than San Fransisco.

All these buttons are confusing.

$15 of produce “and we aren’t just talking about bananas”. Jeanette was impressed with this little fruit stand. It is much cheaper than produce in Reno.
$33 per person for a week of Subway Access. Sounds like a good deal to me.
I’m the one with my arms up in the air.

We walked 8.53 miles which exceeded Jeanette’s goal of 5 miles a day.
