Day 3’s itinerary included castles in 3 different counties. We left Dublin early so we could go Kill Kenny and then….oops… I meant… go to Kilkenny and grab breakfast before a day of castles.

This was my first experience driving on the trip as Kenny did all of the Dublin driving. If you have not ever drived on the left side of the road, it is a crazy sensation when a car comes by you on a 2 lane road. I only hit the left curb twice, but luckily they were both where the curb was really low. Needless to say, Kenny did not get his much deserved nap in the car. I did get the hang of it though by the end of the day.

The castles are amazing. We saw one after some breakfast in Kilkenny, then rushed off to the Rock of Cashel, and finished with a cathedral in Cork that would have made Disney Magic Kingdom a little jealous. Anyway look at the photos and you will see what I mean.

Monastary near the Rock of Cashel is a good place to think.

Also, this is the first night that we slept in a tent near Killarney.
