I am just now trying out this blog idea, so bear with me as I learn. I plan to post photos and some thoughts as Jeanette and I go along on this trip. Hopefully you find them entertaining, but if not, at least you know that we are alright.
The biggest tasks on my “to do” list leading up to this trip were the following.
- Quit job – I only half-way accomplished this. It looks like we will be landing back in Mobile after this adventure, so that means I will hopefully return to my old job. Jeanette did a better job of this; she was actually unemployed for a month leading up to the trip.
- Get vaccinations – Man they are expensive. Jeanette already had most of hers from previous travel, but I had to toughen up and get a couple of shots. I still have a couple more to get once we get to Thailand… I consider it part of the adventure.
- Take care of the house – at first I planned to put it up for rent through a property management agency, but got talked into letting my sister stay here. It definitely turned out to be a blessing.
- Get taxes done, renew licenses, etc.
- Situate Ori. I am going to miss my dog, but she will be in good hands with mom for the next few months.
- Buy a pack. And the rest will take care of itself… or at least with Jeanette by your side it will. Thanks babe. I look forward to adventuring with you.
